I get questions all the time about how do you learn to ride a horse? Most of them are beginners or have never ridden before. The question is very broad, but here are some general guidelines.
- Check in your local area for riding schools.
- Ask people who have horses in your area.
- Read magazines and books about it.
- Find online resources such as Novice Horseman Her Novice Horseman Blog in particular is good.
If you talk to a loca trainer be sure and ask them for references. If they are good they won’t mind. Most of the good trainers are pretty patient. You get that way when you are working with horses a long time.
