How do you break in cowboy boots?

I got these cowboy boots from my friend and they aren’t new but haven’t been broken-in in a few years and are a little tight. What can I do to make them easier to get on and more comfortable?
The lady that gave them to me said that if I put them on, wet the outside of them and wore them around, it would stretch them some. Is this true? Or is it the best way?

Just wear them around your house for awhile. Keep them in a warm place, they’ll get tighter if they’re cold. =]

You can sprinkle some baby powder in them to make it easier to get your feet in, and it makes them smell nice. Like another poster said, the leather wax is great as well.

The only correct way to break in shoes is by wearing them. Any other method will stretch them in a way that is unnatural to the fit of your foot.
